Smokey’s Sanctuary is a UK- and Cyprus-registered animal rescue NON PROFIT organisation dedicated to giving abandoned, abused, and forgotten dogs and cats a second chance at life. Founded by Louiza Demetri and inspired by her French Bulldog, Smokey-Deniro, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who’ve been failed by the system — and to do it with compassion, transparency, and community at its heart.

Based in Cyprus and supported internationally, our sanctuary provides a safe space, medical treatment, and loving rehabilitation for animals in need. But our work doesn’t stop there — we also support low-income families who are struggling to care for their pets by offering access to basic veterinary care, neutering programs, and education on responsible pet ownership. Together, we’re tackling the stray animal crisis from both sides: saving lives and preventing future suffering.
